Motor Home Adventures

Toyota Sunrader

Last Spring I looked at Tiger motor homes see: http://fred-hemker.blogspot.com/2007/03/its-tiger.html. This past week, I saw a Toyota Sunrader for sale in the area and thought I would check it out. The guy was asking only 1/10th the price of the Tiger. It is a 1982.
It was very clean both inside and out and I think he will get his price but I was barely able to fit inside. If I thought I could drive for any length of time with my knees up under my chin, I would have considered buying it. It had a manual transmission with an R20 engine.

Roofing completed

Sometimes you wonder about what bothers people. Five years ago, Kathleen had the wood burning fireplace removed and a gas unit installed. One of the best things we ever did. But the people who did the job, only put a little hat on top of the old chimney. It has always bothered me. This spring when I had the roof replaced, the contractor said if I had a new flashing made for the chimney he would install it. After a bit of confusion, I got my friends in the shop to make me a new top. After painting it, this past weekend, Don, my neighbor, and a couple of his friends installed it.

No one notices but me, but that's OK too.

Family Visits

I had very good tomatoes and cucumbers this year.

Gerardo's mother and Aunt Sylvia came up to visit and made Paella for us. This is not the first time.

Fritz and Patricia also were in town to visit and help me get my house in order. We had a nice visit even though the weather was a bit cool. (for Californians) They enjoyed the Paella also. Now that all the excitement is over I will try to blog a little more regularly.
