Will it be a Tiger?

It was back in Georgia again this week. I took a few hours and drove over to see PROVAN, the manufacturers of Tiger Motorhomes. I think I look pretty good standing beside the demonstrator.

They gave me a tour of their factory and let me take pictures. The motorhomes are built out of plywood and welded aluminum skins. the top is fiberglass. They have nine employees and make one a week.

The interior was very comfortable and the truck was easy to drive. This was a Chevy with turbo diesel and six speed Allison transmission, I would get the Ford with 5.4 Liter gas engine and six speed manual transmission. (four wheel drive of course)

Kate, Gerardo, and I are off to the RV show this weekend to do some comparison shopping. I still have to decide if I would rather have a motorhome or a Villa in Mexico (can't see having both) so don't expect me to show up in your driveway any day soon.

Sunday; March 25, 2007

Kate and Gerardo closed on their house and I took them to Big Bowl to celebrate. I will let them tell about the house.

We had the first grilling out of 2007, rib eyes, salad, and baked potatoes. Those are grilled onions and mushrooms I am cooking. Gerardo bought a sparkling red wine, it was very good. We all got hammered.

I also had a series of three problems. The Astro's battery went dead (had to charge it), the motion detector light by the garage quit working (had to change the bulb), and the furnace quit. Called CenterPoint Energy and they came right out and fixed the vacuum switch on the draft inducer fan. Three up, three fixed just like that. I hope everything else works as smoothly. I am off to Georgia again this week. Will report on my Motorhome adventure next week.

Oyster Stew

You can tell it has been a slow week when all you have to blog about is comfort food. This is Elonet's oyster stew, not quite the same but similar. It make enough for two or more people.
Sauté onions and celery in butter.
Add (1) can of chicken broth, tablespoon salt, and sliced potatoes.

Cook till potatoes are soft.
Add two cups milk and oysters.
Heat, but do not boil, till oysters float.
Adjust seasoning.

Georgia Trip

I was down in Georgia this week and spring is upon them. It was beautiful weather and the grass was green and the trees were budding. I think I have had enough of winter.

Tree in blossom.

Even some dandelions. I guess I have spring fever.

Snow Snow Snow

Ed and Alicia's Visit

Ed and Alicia visited us for a couple of days. It was Ed's birthday.

I enjoyed their visit very much even though it snowed the whole time they were here. I guess they brought it up from Michigan with them.
