Weekly Update
I only got a few apples off my tree this year. Late frost, drought, etc.
I found these three on the ground a week ago and brought them in and made applesauce.
It turned out, now where are the pork chops?
This week I went to Habitat for Humanity.
Here is the house we are working on.
My friend, Dean, who helped me with the Blazer, then had the heart attack. As you can see he is recovering quite well.
My friend, Pete, we were doing trim.
Wow... look at that hair!!!! Cutting trim, this piece I cut four times and it was still too short and the angle was still wrong!!!!!!!
Liz and I went "Up North" this weekend to visit friends and see the colors.
I found a fortune telling machine for a penny, So I weighed myself and got my fortune.
Liz's friends have a small farm with chickens and cows.
Things are very different from living in the cities.
Because of the drought, the colors are not as good as in other years, but this is still a nice tree.
Some wildflowers.
Another tree along the road.
On Sunday we went to Sears for family photos.
It is like herding cats.

Labor Day Update
A couple of years ago I was given a Suzuki Sidekick as a project car.
After a time I gave up on the project and gave it to my friend Nick.
He was going to try to get it running to give to his daughter to drive to school. It was perfect in that it was a relatively heavy car, manual transmission, four wheel drive, and with an airbag.
After a great deal of work he finally got the engine out and we opened it up and it has a bad rod bearing. It shouldn't be too hard to fix and get it on the road.
Labor Day Picnic.
Prime rib on the grill.
With the baked potatoes.
Liz making sure I didn't make any mistakes.
Just about done.
Gerardo and his mother making a salad.
Now there is a crew!!
Sitting down to dinner.
The "Little One" and Kate.
Pati and Patricia.
I made two pies for dessert, one apple (I used the last of my last year's apples) and a pecan pie.
The BEHM waiting for a piece.
What an adventure.
Kate and the "Little One" relaxing for a couple of minutes.

Weekly Update
A while ago Liz mentioned that she wanted a fan in her bedroom. I said, "That's nice."
So, a couple of months ago we were going someplace and there was a fan on the curb with a "free" sign. Liz picked it up and I took it home and checked it out and it all worked but it did not have a shade on the lights at the bottom.
So after I got it hung up I had to make the shade for the bulbs and drill two holes in it so that the strings that work the light and the fan are able to be pulled. The whole job turned out OK. We still need some strings with ends on them to finish it but the hard part is done.
It was in the 80's but the wind was blowing and it was a bit cool.
Liz steering the boat?
One last swim of the season.
A bit chilly.
If you are keeping track, my Blazer had a leaky intake manifold gasket and I repaired it.
My friend, Dean, came over and helped me install the manifold and pushed me ahead to get the job done. He then when home and had a heart attack, but he is recovering. The problem was that it still leaked after I got it back together. What had happened was I tore a hose as you can see and it was leaking where the hose was torn. I cut off about half an inch so that I could push the hose on further and that seems to have fixed the leak. No job is ever easy.
What is that!!!
The things you see when you don't have your handgun!!!
