The End of August.

Liz even went in the water it was so hot.

Garden Update
I was using some chicken wire to try to keep the deer from eating my tomatoes and a cucumber grew inside the cage.
My other cucumber. I think this is my last year for a garden, It just isn't worth the effort to feed the deer.

Lifter mechanism improved.
I welded a stiffener bar on my lifter mechanism, it really improves the stiffness of the support arms.

Grill Repair and Deck Staining

This past weekend I worked on getting my grill repaired. I broke it trying to cook an eighteen pound turkey. I guess I was the turkey. Taken apart showing the burner.
New rods welded up to support the heat diffuser.
Getting ready to power wash it before assembly.

All done, ready for some burgers.

While I had the power washer out, I thought I would go ahead and wash the deck.

Nice and clean.
With a coat of stain.

Cooking Update

I tried to make a Turkey on the rotisserie. It was an eighteen pounder that I got for 39 cents a pound last Thanksgiving.
It didn't even close to fitting!!!
It broke the grate that holds the stones.
I was able to find an aluminum pan and when I put it inside the grill, the lid wouldn't close!!! I drilled a couple of holes lower in the grill and put a couple of rods through the ends to support the pan. I put the grates back on to of the rods to keep the pan from bending. I now have to rebuild the whole thing before I can grill again. I will detail in another post.

This weekend, I made dinner, ham with mac and cheese.
