Update, Memorial Day

I have been helping Kate and Gerardo work on their house.
The "woodpeckers" made a hole in the siding of the chimney and to fix it we moved a board from the bottom to the top.  I then bought a new board to replace the one at the bottom.
We also replace the sliding patio door, here the BEHM is helping my friend Pete remove the old door.
Here I am with my helpers.

In other news, Liz came over for Memorial Day.
Here she is playing with the BEHM.
He wants her to play in the garden!!

My peony's are blooming nicely.

These are from Grandpa Fritz's house.
My front bushes are also blossoming.  They are very overgrown, I will need to prune them sometime.

Mother's Day Update

The BEHM checking out some catalogs.
A quiet moment while I was watching him.

This week I made a Rhubarb pie.
I mixed it with, strawberries, sugar, and tapioca.
All baked.
It was excellent.
Kate enjoying a piece with ice cream.

I finally got the intake manifold off the Blazer.
Some of the bolts were barely finger tight!!  It gets torqued down to only 11 ft pounds because of the plastic gaskets.
Engine with the manifold removed.
You can see some of the evidence of the gaskets leaking.  The shaft in the valley is a "silent" shaft that is suppose to dampen some of the harmonics produced by the six cylinder engine.  It turns in the opposite direction from the way the engine rotates.

Mother's Day.
Kate and Liz came over for Mother's Day.
We had some grilled lobsters.  We pan fried them in butter and olive oil.

Slow Activity Week

This winter I have had some health issues and after a great deal of consultation with my Primary Care Physician (at $30 a visit) decided to have my Gall Bladder removed. The operation went well and my surgeon said everything inside looked "healthy" (in contrast to being diseased or cancerous) but I am still in recovery and have not been able to do a lot.  Not that I would have done a lot anyway.

My Trillium is still doing well.  I had some worries after last summer.

Here is some growing in the corner of the house.
Spreading out into the lawn.

Kate was out walking the BEHM and the "Little One".
Isn't he cute.

BEHM working on his tennis swing.

What form, what grace.  Like his mother, a natural athlete.

Liz had a quilt show this past weekend.
Here is a collage of her entries.

The BEHM at my house.

He has a new car.  A BMW no less.
Working on it already, what do you expect from that foreign junk!  And the parts are really expensive.  I should talk, I have started to take my Blazer apart to replace the intake manifold gaskets.  The domestic iron isn't much better.
