Walking Around Istanbul

Before I left Turkey, I toured around the city of Istanbul.

The Hagia Sophia.

This was originally built as a church but converted during the Ottoman period.

At Hagia Sophia.
Then I was off to the Blue Mosque.

I also went to the Basilica Cistern

This is Medusa's Head, it was used for the foundaton for one of the roof supports. Because this was strickly an engineering project, they used whatever was handy.

Then I went to the Spice Market.
