Kasin the Cat
My friend, Kasin the Cat, is out doing his best to provide for us during the financial crisis. Here is a 'snackie' he brought home.
He is on guard for some more supplemental protein.

Odds and Ends
Lately I have been very busy but haven't gotten anything done worth blogging about. What can I say? Cooking my apples to applesauce.
All done.
I finally got the siding painted and the board off the roof. I still have a couple of stickers to take off the windows and that job will be done.
Path down to the river.
Sand bar out in the river. I swam out to it.

Yard Projects.
The garden in the front of the house is finally done. Sod planted and growing quite well.
Another view of where the garden used to be. It is much easier to mow the lawn now. I had a lot of help from Liz, Kate, and Gerardo. Nothing makes me feel better than to mark a job off my list!
My apple harvest left much to be desired. The apples were small and not very good. I will make applesauce out of them.

Alicia's Garden and Pond
The fish are "eating" size!!
Fred and Alicia. Fred was trying to scoop out a couple of fish for a snack. Alicia gently told him that she would buy him some fish, her fish cost a lot more than ones in the store.
Sharon and Phyliss. The Saturn, 33 miles per gallon.
Alicia's party.

Road Trip
I am off on a road trip this week and drove through Chester IL., famous for being the birthplace of Popeye the Sailor. This is the Chester Bridge across the Mississippi River.
I wanted to take pictures of the prison but thought better of it.Barge traffic on the River. The statue of Popeye at the edge of town, the reason I know it is the home of Popeye.
