Weekend Adventure

This past weekend Liz and I went to the Scottish Festival in St Paul. We saw dancers and bag pipes and many of the different clans had booths passing out information. It was very interesting.

Here are some young women warming up for the dance contest. No pictures were allowed during the actual dancing.

On the way home, we stopped at a statue of Liz's Great Uncle, Lief Erickson; the discoverer of America.

Of course we had to visit the capital while we were in downtown St Paul.

Comments:
What's up with the Leif Ericson statue in Minn. State Capital? I thought he "visited" Newfoundland?

Did you know that in 1964, the U.S. Congress authorized the President to proclaim October 9 annually as Leif Ericson Day?
