Knee Update Three

Standard Knee Picture. The Doctor said that I am a good healer, very little swelling and all the incisions healed nicely.

Close up of bruise caused by operation. I had no stitches in the incisions. Just tape over the holes and that is why I was not suppose to get them wet for the first week.

These are the photos from inside, with the Doctor's notes attached. The lower right hand picture shows the bare bone surfaces which are rubbing each other causing most of the pain. The ACL is not torn as much as distorted and 'frayed'. The lower left hand picture shows the tear in the cartilage that the Doctor repaired. He was surprised that I remembered him 'mopping' the floor. He said he was trying to move the surgical team on a little bit as they were running behind schedule. He recommended exercises to keep the joint flexible and to start slowly back on the stairmaster and stationary bike. He said that he saw no reason I wouldn't be able to ride a century next summer.

Comments:
A good report from the doctor! Good for you for following directions!
So, which 'century' do you plan to ride next summer? May I come with you?

Fred you couldn't ride a century
befor your knees went bad. Walter
