Making Beer, Prohibition Style
Some friends requested instruction in making beer. The only beer style I know is Grandpa Fritz's Prohibition Style where you mix up a can of beer kit with sugar and yeast. So with the help of the John Bull (I wonder if he is any relation to Gerald Bull?) Kit and some sugar we mixed up a batch.
To keep the complaints to a minimum I took them some samples of beers I have made in the past so that they would not be surprised by the result.
By the end of the evening we had the fermenter in the bathtub working away. I hoped their house was warmer than mine, but was disappointed, it took four weeks to ferment. We split the batch, to keep with tradition, I bottled my share in Grandpa Fritz's NORKA quarts.
