A family visit,

Easter 2006

Easter basket and jelly beans. Kathleen's brother Pat sent us flowers for Easter. They brighten up the house very nicely.

We had a nice Easter dinner of ham, scalloped potatoes, and green bean casserole. It was a very nice day and we all enjoyed it. After dinner we played dominos.
Kate made an excellent pecan pie for desert.

Exhibit at Open Book

Kathleen wanted to see the display at Open Book of Breast Cancer Survivors.
It was a very moving and sobering experience. Jila Nikpay, an Iranian immigrant who came to the United States in the 1970's to study economics and fine arts at the University of Minnesota, published a book of photography and poetry featuring 21 Twin Cities women who have survived breast cancer.
It was an interesting adventure. We had a sandwich in the coffee shop before we viewed the exhibit.

Winter to Spring 2006

We are now in the transition from Winter to Spring and it is very nice. Kathleen and YiYu out for a short walk, the garden starting to bud out.

Kate and Gerardo washing the cars. Getting all that old winter road dirt off.

Our special dinners of the week were Lobster and 'Big Bowl' Lettuce wraps. Kate got the directions off the web and we fried the noodles outside on the grill.
